The forest and ocean in the same place makes this a beautiful place to visit or life. I recommend it to anyone to at least say there for a week and experience it all, as there is much to see between those 2 alone. After that though, make sure to go into the wonderful downtown area, as they have made sure to keep it looking gorgeous.

I used to live in Eureka and King Salmon - King Salmon is South of City limits and seems to be forgotten, even by the locals. It offers a wonderful clean and not so crowded beach.

I sure wish I had gotten some pictures while I lived there - I am no where near a beach now.

Owning a house in Mendocino put us on the road to Eureka fairly often. The drive is quite scenic and while the town is not really touristy, there isn't a bad meal to be found. The Victorian homes in Ferndale, just "next door" are as lovely as any in San Francisco without all the inconvenience. Do give it a look.

Nice place to visit, clean but seems a little crowded..... visit samoa island before leaving! Very pretty place but the ocean is cold.
