When we first arrived the room smelled like a toilet. They fixed that then later that night at 3 am the toilet overflowed. It then sat on the bathroom floor/carpet for seven hours. The management was not on sight. They have a number you call with a recording they say they will return your call within 24hrs. It took them 50 plus hours to return ...

Nice place, crystal clear water

To really get the hang of Catalina you have to get away from Avalon. Too many people take the ferry over and spend the whole day right there near the ferry landing in Avalon, crowded on the little beach or snorkeling in a huge crowd by the old casino. Much better to rent a golf cart and travel around the island. Go up to the top and enjoy the ...
the island of Romance... love the sound of it! My boyfriend told me he was taking me away for the weekend, but never told me where... Oh' my was I surprised, he planned it out very well. When I found out we were going to the island I could not believe it! He took me to Steve's Steakhouse for a delicious dinner. Had the best time of my ...
Located 26 miles off the coast of California, this island offers anyone a romantic getaway from the fast-paced life of busy Los Angeles. This island offers water sports activities such as water skiing, jet skiing, diving, & snorkeling. The gift shops line the coast offering many souvenirs for you to take home. Best Secret on West Coast US

Just 1/2 hour from Long Beach Airport with breath taking scenery like large schools of dolphin or whales on the way over. Once there a buffalo burger at the airport cafe is a must. Then a tram ride to either Avalon or the Isthmus to relax and have ...

A Good Place For A Stroll
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/11/06
Six months after Kerry & I were married, we still couldn't afford a honeymoon. After a year of saving, we decide to jump on a plane and fly to California and jump on the ferry and set sail to Catalina Island.
While a remote tropical isle may be the ultimate winter escape, you need only head to the west tip for an unspoiled, ...

Catalina:Never seem to get our fill
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/24/06
Beautiful Southern California Catalina Island Sunshine with dazzling clear water. Nice sail, and a quick over on a motor yacht. Don’t be misled, this is not the gloomy, rainy northwest boating with dangerous deadhead logs, treacherous ships and bad weather tides. Catalina is, and has always been a jewel among the California Channel Islands. .
Why is everyone so crazy about this place? Unless you plan to snorkel or scuba dive 12 hours a day, there is nothing else to do here. The part of the island that is accessible is small and over-commercialized. Stores are the same generic dime-a-dozen gift/t-shirt/surf shops that are all over in any Southern Cal beach. Restaurants and bars are ...
