We went for three days to Big Bear for our 10th anniversary (w/o our kids!). We stayed in an adorable one room cabin at the Big Bear Manor Jacuzzi Cabins (cabin #10). It had a cute kitchenette (we chose to eat out), a wonderfully large two person jacuzzi tub next to a real fireplace (wood runs about $5 a bundle in town or at the office). The ...
Other than the occasional flatlanders raiding the area, its very serene and peaceful! The Clouds Hit the Ground- the wind blows through you.. and if you drive up really late at night in bad weather..you have a 50/50 chance of going off winding roads and plunging 6000 feet to your death.
The Clouds Hit The Ground! The Air Is Thin, The Elements are Alive! The wind blows through you. The Only Real Problem is its on this travel page and these flatlanders keeping driving up the mountain!

I have driven it in car and motorhome and it's easy to manuver either way. The Big Bear area can get extremely congested on weekends but it's ...

Fun location for everyone
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/28/05
This is a nice vacation for families or individuals that want to get away. Easy and advanced hikes all over. The village is charming and full of delicious restaurants. The lake is open for recreation in the summer and there is skiing in the winter. All around good time.

Great for Family or Just Two
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/29/05
When I think of a nice woodsy place to run away it is big bear.
You get a country feeling, plenty to do, and all types of shops nearby.
I like staying close to The Village so your not far from everything and you can even rent your own house or cabin online.
