A town square that's not all boarded up is a rarity these days. A vibrant one with an operating 1929 theater, bandstand, shops, restaurants, and National Historic District designation is even rarer. Look before you leap...

In middle of nowhere. Long way to any worthwhile shopping of any sort if you need anything other than white bread and bologna. Nothing open after 5 or on Sunday. Home of Skinheads, Sufi dancers, and not much in between. Loads of churches. Locals don't really like tourists + have no respect for property rights. Inadequate, incompetant law enforcement + Hatfield and McCoy mentality. Best avoided.
