There is little of value to see in this imitation old west town. Most of Tombstone is really from the 1940's and it is just a big row of gift shops with nothing else to see. The prices are too high, the place we ate was terrible and there are not many choices. The surrounding area is not very interesting and the place is just too hard to get too.
I was somewhat disappointed in the town of Tombstone. I think because I expected too much out of it from what I've seen and read, but there were some very favorable points of interest.
There is a place you can go to view a brief film of the history of Tombstone, check this out, it will help so much with some of the historice buildings ...

fake all the way

What a farse this place is. There are lots of fake cowboys walking around like being in a Village people video. We went into one store and the lady told us if we don't have any money to get out. All the prices were just crazy. Big nose Kates wanted $4 for a bottle of beer. Most of the so called history they tell you is not true. A very large distortion and really just a blatant tourist trap.

WE WILL BE BACK TOMBSTONE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/18/06
My sister and I went to Tombstone intending to spend a day but we loved it so much we spent 3 days instead. It was the best time we have ever had. Suzanne and Phyllis at Oriental rented us saloon girl costumes and that was the beginning of the roller coaster ride that we never wanted to get off of. We took pictures with everyone- the other tourists ...
My uncle got all dressed up like Wyatt Earp with old time athentic western clothes he's been collecting for over a year and walked up and down Allen Street. You should have seen the people taking pictures and asking to have their picture taken with him.He said he felt like a celebrety.Talk about a truley fun place to visit. Anyone who is in to the old west will have a blast here I garrantee it.
After visiting many times my wife and I just moved to Tombstone. There is so much to see and do here that living here will keep us busy for years to come. The town is great. The people are so friendly. The prices in all the shops are very reasonable-in fact compareable to shopping in Mexico. The obvious sites to visit are the OK Corral, Boothill ...

True Americana History
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/26/06
What a spiritual place--this is not a place for a day trip -- one needs to plan atleast two to three days to see this area. Aside from OK Corral, Boothill Graveyard etc. The area offers lot of historical places and parks to visit. It is the largest breeding ground for Sand Hill Cranes --it is a wine country.NOW AS FAR AS HOTELS GO THE ONLY PLACE ...
Tombstone is a small gem hidden within grandiose scenery with a "mother lode" of history situated in southern Arizona's high desert. It's a fun stopoff on your way further south to Bisbee, AZ, an old mining town that has much more to offer. I love that whole corner of Arizona. See Tombstone, play cowboy and see more, the ...
You will love this place if you like amusement parks. This was "Disney does Tombstone". Any historical aspect of the old town is far overshadowed by the commercial exploitation of the towns past. The only real bright spot was the Birdcage Theater. A nice little step back in time with "real" artifacts and original atmosphere. ...
