We went for a 4 day karate seminar. Plan to go there for an event, ie rodeo, business, other city-wide event. Antique shopping, restaurants, relaxing... gun range close by, no fishing though. Family? Waiting for batting cages to open up soon! Recommend Best Western on Beeline.

Nice place to stay..the room was clean, comfortable and fairly quiet other than a noisy air conditioner, but I have never seen a quiet one anyway. We had a pet with us and they did charge extra for him, but it was pretty much hassle free. The grounds were very clean. They are fast food and restaurants within walking distance. If you can, stay at the back of the hotel, away from the road and noise.

Payson is one of those towns you just pass by while you go to another final destination. There is not much to do in town besides measure the temperature which is hot most of the summer.

In Payson, there truly isn't much to do. But, you can get a motel room and go to the museum (if you are into Zane Grey and/or some AZ history), the Tonto Natural Bridge and surrounding lakes. This is a boring little town with nothing to do but watch the weather. If you need to relax it is a good place to go because there really is nothing to do. It seems the locals enjoy spending time at the local Wal-Mart and there is a small movie theater. Most places of business close early and sometimes are only open a few days a week. The ...
