  • best in the area

Jerome was the highlight of a trip to AZ that included Scottsdale, Phoenix, Sedona and the surrounding area. It is rich in history with a great art community. The Jerome Grand Hotel, a former state of the art, totally original hospital, is a terrific place to stay, complete with the Asylum restaurant, fabulous in it's own rite.

Great shops and entertainment and the highlight of our trip in December 2005

  • Jerome Then & Now
    By gretchen m, 05/08/06
I first had the opportunity to visit Jerome back in 1984. Back then, being a kid, the abandoned Ghost town was about the coolest place ever. Most of the falling down buildings and houses were not fenced off or demolished, and it took everything in my mother to keep my brothers and I from injury! Tossing coins into the old exposed Bank Safe in the ...

  • Jerome is the place!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/06
I think Jermome is a great little town with a lot of style! The shops are unique and the view is one of a kind. When it's time to add another ring to my collection - I head to Jerome. I tell anyone visiting AZ - head to Jerome, you'll fall in love with the city!

  • What a view!!!!!!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/13/06
My brother and I found this town while passing through Sedona. This is a must for those who like to get off the main road. The view is fantastic. Also, a nice stop for lunch and a beer.

Make this a part of your trip if you close!!

  • Escape from the Valley
    By Beth, 02/05/06
I have loved Jerome for 10 years now. It's a place of peace for me. It's my favorite escape out of the Valley of the Sun. I enjoy coming here at anytime of the year. It's magical, peaceful, kind, romantic, historic, laid back and has a safe feeling.
I've stayed over a few times and the service at both the Conner Hotel and ...

  • Off the Beaten Path and Worth the Time
    By A .K. B, 10/11/05
Jerome has a nice feel to it. I have to admit watching the donkey chew gum was a highlite.
This old rusty place in the middle of no where is not for the fast crowd. But if you enjoy stepping back and looking at cool old stuff...it's an enjoyable afternoon. Close to Sedona in location. Far far away in the whole new age vibe.

  • A different place
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/06/05
Jerome is a unique must see town. Its construction is unlike any other in the region, and its unusual location is extraordinare, allowing some of the best views. This town is rich in history and culture being that is a ghost mining town. Highly recommended for a day of fun browsing the antique shops, the unusual shops, as well as the the unique restaurants and bars that make this town even better.

  • I thought I was in heaven
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/30/05
It was the most beautiful site. The drive up was the scariest thing I've ever been through my parents had their 50th anniversary,my three sisters and oldest daughter surprised them by flying down there. They decided to show us this awesome place. My mothers maiden name is Jerome.

  • Jerome: A "Hippy" experience
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/05
Jerome, Arizona is definitely a "one of a kind" experience, as are many attractions in Arizona. The now defunct mining town (aka: "ghost town") sits in a very unique environment and has become quite the free-love, groovy hideaway with many shops supplying incense, chimes, etc. to those still living in the 60's. Yes...it is ...

The ghost town part of Jerome was cheesy, but it was worth visiting for the actual town. There are a lot of old houses built into the side of hills. Also, a great brewery/restaurant in an old firehouse. If you have time to spare, stop in. Otherwise, spend your time in Sedona.
