hello all .. i stayed 7 days in this hotel with a group,we had 7 rooms, all of us had the same opinion, we wouldin'd give it a 5 star, and sure wont have had payed that high rate . we would give it a 3 star hotel , and wont pay more than 150 euro per night (was 400Euro)

The epitome of "a room with a view" in Florence. My wife and I honeymooned in Florence, and this grand hotel was everything we hoped for.

My husband and I stayed at the Excelsior during our honeymoon. The location is outstanding. We had a room with a beautiful view and the service was excellent. The concierge helped us find fabulous restaurants. We're counting the days until we return!

Superb location, very attentive staff, clean, I can't stress that enough from the second you walk in. The room we stayed in ( with the view of the Arno river)was nothing less than spectacular. We also had a chance to dine at the hotel; the restaurant is just as superb.
I have stayed at some very nice Hotels but the Excelsior is truly a gem not to be forgotten.
