We stayed at the hotel in June 2006 for 4 nights before going on a Carnival Cruise. It was wonderful to walk out the front door and see Vatican City (about 2 blocks away). I recently stayed at the Columbus Hotel for 5 nights early November as part of a group of 22. The location is fantastic; a 5 minute walk to St Peter's square. This hotel was dreadful. No a/c aweful baths. beds and linens were second rate. I have stayed in nicer Red Roof Inns. The few meals we ate were the worst we had in Italy.
