The place was clean and respectable enough, but had the time-machine to the 70s feel. Staff seemed confused at times and couldn't explain certain features of the hotel. The indepedent gym (attached but not part of) the hotel was a joke. It was suppose to be complimentary, but they tried to charge $10 for the 'deluxe package'. Another time warp. And the patrons, well - not a 'family friendly' gym if you get the drift.

We must have run into the same desk staff as brain22. We arrived early and a disinterested desk clerk was adamant that no check in was allowed before 3:30 - no offer to store baggage, no offer to check if any rooms were actually ready, generally rude.

Actually getting into the room was no improvement. The room was hot, stuffy and well worn. ...

we really liked the location of this hotel. it was very close to good restaurants and pubs. stanley park was only a couple blocks down and robson street was about a 15-20min walk. they have a good package deal called the "gourmet stay & play" where they give u free parking, $75 towards a restaurant of your choice and 2 free ...

Staff is excellent, friendly and accomodating. The room was comfortable and large with a very nice view. We will stay at the Coast Plaza on our next visit to Vancouver.

The Coast Hotel was the perfect place for me to stay - close to Stanley Park and running. Within walking distance to downtown. Lots of amenities like the Denman Fitness Centre and the pool. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. Lots of different ethnic foods wihin a couple of blcoks. My experience couldn't have been better. I'd definitely stay there again!

I stayed there Apr 2006 with my three daughters 13, 13 and 10. The site was very spacious and we had a nice view from our room on the 11th floor. We would have liked a room much higher up.
