great accommodations, great valueroom was spotlessly clean, very nice decor, ample size with wonderful balcony overlooking wooded area. We preferred NOT to have housekeeping for a 3 day stay so we got an arm full of clean towels and extra coffee packets from housekeeping at beginning of stay. Wonderful visit!We were nervous about the hotel after reading some of the other reviews. We are wondering if they really ever stayed there. When we arrived, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. They even upgraded us to a slightly larger room when they found out it was my husband's birthday. Would Choose Other Hotels In AreaIt appears this hotel made an attempt at refurbishing its aging body; however, we were disappointed because:
1) The bed had some sort of small bugs (fleas, baby roaches?)
2) The food in the restaurant was almost inediable.
3) The dining room smelled of mold and humidity.

Not up to IHG standards!This was the worst Crowne Plaza I have ever seen! The front desk person at check in was rude and made me wait while she socialzed with other employees. I had a smoking room with no ashtray and it took the staff over an hr to bring one. The wall paper was comeing off the walls. Blankets on both beds had wholes. Can't Wait To Stay Again...We took a two day trip to Williamsburg for New Years Eve and had a wonderful time. The staff was very helpful in that they had no problem with an early check in, and were even considerate enough to deliver cookies and milk to the room as a New Years treat. "Very pleased"We arrived on Wed 7/11 around 11:00 pm. staying for 3 nights. Speedy check-in, pleasant personnel. Rooms appeared to have been renovated; everything clean and fresh.
Beds were extremely comfortable and linens were nice and comforter wonderful.

Definitely would stay here again!My family of 5 spent 4 nights here. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were very concerned about meeting needs as promptly as possible. The room was large and neat with a TV and small frig (we had 2 double beds in our room). Not up to my standardsThe hotel is showing its age and is generally unkempt and not particularly clean. "Courtyard view" was a disappointment. Th hotel is advertised as being within walking distance of the historical district, and technically it is, but it took us at least 15 or 20 minutes of walking to get there. Several hotels are closer.
