All of Vatican City is a treat to see, there are two visits that many miss however, the first is the dome of Saint Peter's you must climb about three hundred stairs sort of sideways at times but it is so totally worth it. The sights inside and out are worth every second of the climb. The second stop which most who are not local know not about ...

too many people
By Kathy D, 04/15/07
Arrived at 8:30 AM on a Monday. probably already 7-8 thousand people in line for Vatican and museum. St Peter's square and Basicilica was wounderful and beautiful. Trip up the winding stairs of copola was a little frightening and not for claustrophobics. But view of Rome from the top was spectacular.
My mistake is that I didn't bring my tripod with me, the pictures looks nice on my little 2 inch view finder on my camera but as soon as I download my pictures it's not that sharp. There will be lots of group tour coming in and it's kinda hard to get a good picture(without them walking in front of your camera), just wait in between two groups to take pictures.

You need more than one day.
By casacs, 07/12/06
There are so many things to do and sites to see with Vatican City that you need more than one day. The wait to enter St. Peter's is about 20 minutes on a good day. Entering the Museum complex can be a bit rricky if you take the wrong sidewalk but is also worth it. There is absolutely nothing like the Sistine Chapel. To be inside the ...

The Vatican was just amazing. There is no other words to say. To stand in this huge building with ceilings that just went up to the sky, you cannot imagine how people could have constructed it. And all the gold and wealth everywhere. Its incredible to see.

So THIS is why people believe...

Being able to hear the stories and history of not only the buildings, but those that inspired them and those that built them made my faith come alive. From Peter's crucifixion, to his burial, to Constantine rising to power and building the first St. Peter's Basilica, to all the popes through the centuries, the Vatican is truly the City on ...

Amazing!!!

This is an amazing city. At the heart of it is St. Peters Basillica. This is truly the most ornate structure that I have ever seen. As you enter you can not help but feel a difference of atmosphere, whether you are christian or not. The history of the building starts to come to life as you are walking in this fairy tale type church. In another ...

Another trip to visit the new Pope
By zena_marilyn, 04/23/05
Shopping for leather bags & shoes in Milan. Visiting Vatican was my dream come true. Sightseeing the ruins ,fountains & statues were breath-taking. Most of all I enjoyed eating pizza, Italian bread & ice-cream. The Italians reminded me of our Eurasian comunity in Malaysia.

No words can desribe....
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 03/28/05
From Saint Peters to the museum, you will enjoy the sights and the history of christianity. From the column where Jesus leaned on to the extraoridnary view from St. Peter's dome, you will not be disappointed. When I first entered St. Peter's Basilica, I fell to my knees and gasped at the beauty of it's architecture and enjoyed every ...
