This is the second time I have eaten at the Civil Cricket. Previously I had one of the daily specials which I cannot remember at this time, but I remember liking the atmosphere inside and enjoying the wine selection and the food. This time I had the chicken salad which was wonderful in presentation and taste. Lots of chicken with nuts and fruit. ...

I had read about the "Civil Cricket" on line. When I was at a convention in Washington, DC the first part of February I decided to driver out to Middletown and check it out. What a great place to eat! It was well worth the drive. Great food and a quaint atmosphere. I was greeted by the owner and his staff. They made me feel right at ...

Back in November of 08, my fiancée and I came upon this little gem of a restaurant through the suggestion of a friend. Since then it has become part of our weekend eating out routine. The food is above average quality with refreshing affordable prices. We have come to know "Rob" the owner as well as his staff and felt from the first ...

We have eaten in this charming cafe many times. The food is excellent. The tiny log cabin is authentic. Ambiance is A+. The people who own the place, who prepare and serve the food and who share interesting info about the area are friendly, efficient and always eager to make sure the visit is a memorable one. What a treasure in Middletown, VA! Pat

We live in Middletown and passed by this little cafe several times before we decided to stop. We were very glad we did. We have been there for both lunch and dinner. The food is very fresh and prepared just perfectly. The prices are fantastic. And, the service is the best that I have seen in many years. The owners go out of their way to serve ...

A wonderful place to eat. Small restored 18th century log cabin. Good food and a nice, eclectic atmosphere. The staff will take time to answer questions about the menu, the local history, and of course serve a wonderful meal. Might be a good idea to call ahead for reservations on the weekend. They are opened Tuesday thru Saturday, serving lunch and dinner.
