Well, I don't know which Monterey Restaurant you went to but I just LOVE the one in Bowie, MD. I am not a Spanish Professor, but I am Mexican from TX, born and raised in San Antonio, TX, my extended family is from Monterey Mexico. I can tell you that this is the most authentic TEXMEX food in the neighborhood. "On the Border" is now ...

Actually, to correct a previous review, this is NOT the closest to authentic Mexican food. I've lived in Mexico for several years...I know. Cons: No homemade tortillas, the food is somewhat bland, and the staff speaks very ...

They offer two salsas, one tomato based, the other I'm not sure, but it is white. The tomato salsa is picante, spicy and very good. Neither my wife nor I liked the ...

Very low prices! The service is prompt, and the restaurant is never crowded. I have never been impressed with their food in terms of spicing, but they have a great menu and everything I've had has been good, if not great.
