Stayed at the Rio Hotel for 3 nights this August. Well appointed rooms, clean, great service, good value and very quiet compared to other nearby hotels. Breakfast was fantastic. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is really perfect positioned nearby the Acropolis, the Archeological Museum, new Acropolis Museum and very easy to walk ...

Hotel Rio staff speaks English which is a plus. Location in the center of the city but the area was not very safe.. The staff was not friendly and they did not clean the rooms or bathrooms. We requested more toilet tissue and to change the sheet, the staff told us to come down stairs and get it. The T.V did not work and the A.C. unitl leaked in ...

The hotel “Rio” was a good choice. The hotel was clean, quiet, and well-situated with easy access to the Metro. The staff was very helpful and English speaking. The breakfast was excellent and the choices were more than enough. The most important thing was that it was very QUIET. It is located right in the city center which made it very easy for us to get around. Overall - a good experience.

Stayed here in December 2008 with my two friends.
Delightful, extremely polite service, well worth the money, convenient shopping area and near metro station.
Location is close to the archaeological sites.
A wonderful hotel with great amenities. It was very clean and service was great.

We stayed at the Hotel Rio for five nights .The location is perfect. You are 5 to 10 minutes walking from everything. The location of the hotel was ideal for exploring Athens and was close to all major sites of interest. Near many shops and restaurants. The staff is warm and friendly. Nice breakfast room. If you are considering staying in Athens, this is the place to stay.

Good Points: Great location, very quiet and delightful hotel, delicious breakfast, clean rooms, multilingual stuff, friendly service, excellent cafe and restaurant with greek and italian dishes, Travel Agency with tickets to the greek islands and worldwide. Car parking.

Not a short walk to Plaka and tourist attractions that we thought. Area around hotel very dirty, lots of traffic, didn't feel safe to walk, construction noise immediately next to hotel starting at 8am every morning. Staff cordial but not friendly.

We stayed in the hotel in April 07 and after one night we left to find other accommodation.
The airconditioning does not work. The sheets and general cleanliness is more fitting to Calcutta. We stay in a lot of hotels and this was not worth the value at all. The noise from traffic, was too much, only one light was working and the television did not work.
My conclusion is deplorable.

Stayed 5 nights at the Hotel Rio Athens with my family at the end of February.
Our check in was fast and efficient. The breakfast was great.
Hotel location is convenient. Just 10 min. walk to the Acropolis, other archaeolgical sites and the nearest subway station was just a block away.
