My fiance and I went in March for his birthday. We had a wonderful time there. The staff is very professional and has different light aroma therapy fragrances through out the hotel. Check in was very easy. Staff at the front desk was very helpful upgrading our room with jacuzzi on the balcony.All- Inclusive is the way to go and very relaxing. We visited Excaret. It's a must see! We decided to get married in Mexico in 2011.
Stayed in Cancun 2 times in last 2 months. Melia was one of best. They actually had a beach. MOST DONT!! Old photos posted by most. Staff very friendly. All inclusive includes tips!! They dont tell you that and the staff hits you up for it.. Tip bartendars early and they will go out of there way to give you drinks. Take bus everywhere!!! Cops will ...
We go to Cancun every year at Easter and we will never go back to the Gran Melia. Our luggage took hours to arrive at our room, our room key did not work (we tried more than 10x to get one that did!) Our room was as far from the desk as you could get and we had so many problems with our room, we constantly had to waste time walking all the way ...

Wonderful rooms and terraces with great views, spot-on personal service and beautiful location. Central to a lot of great restaurants along the hotel zone. Loved it. No spring breakers are allowed. A must have: Royal Service Luxury Suite on Caribbean.

Super Bowl Feb 3-6 2008
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/11/08
My wife & I stayed @ the Gran Melia for 3 nights over Super Bowl Weekend. The room faced the ocean with a great view @ 299.00 per night. The room air conditioner never cooled the room. I dont think they use evaporator coils. The hot water didn't work @ night. The food in the restaurants were OK, but nothing special. Hotel bar had a ...

We got married at the Melia =)
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/08/08
We have been to Cancun 3 times now and stayed at the Melia Cancun 2 times. My husband and I got married at the Melia Cancun. The staff was incredible with all the details of the wedding and our stay both times we have been there. All we wanted to do was stay on their incredible beach all day, and for the most part of our vacation that is what we did.

Buyer Beware
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/31/06
The hotel is a spectacular property in sunny Cancun but there are hundreds of spectacular properties in Cancun. We stayed at the Gran Melia and based on positive reviews paid for the Royal Service (basically their conceige level). We had a letter with the terms of the Royal Service which included a room in the "Royal tower", alcoholic ...

great hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/14/06
Great hotel with great service. The ocean view deluxe had a water fall shower and flat screen. The beach was great and their pool was huge with a bar. Only downside was that everything is soo expensive and they don't let you check in until 3pm. Their breakfast buffet is good but it's $20.00 a person. Overall it was an awesome experience and I would definetly come back to this hotel.

Rocky at first but LOVED the Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/09/06
When we arrived at the Hotel for our week vacation we were told that we had no rooms. I was shocked as I had even upgraded the rooms two weeks before we were to arrive. The Gran Melia claimed that my travel agent had canceled our rooms. I showed them my paperwork to no avail. No one I spoke with including the Manager seemed to have the ...

Outstanding services...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/08/06
My wife and I went to the Gran Melia for our honeymoon. The staff were very helpful, courteous, and took pride in each of their particular jobs. The rooms, restaurant, and beach area were immaculate. The views in the central atrium were breath-taking, and the shows the hotel put on at night were family friendly and very entertaining. The hotel ...
