The staff were tremendously helpful, particularly the cleaning staff who helped this toobab trying to learn Wolof. I would recommend this hotel to anyone as a sanctury to the hassle in Dakar, however, although the food is okay, there are much better resturants close by.

I have stayed at this hotel many times. I had stayed at other more "luxurious" hotels in Dakar, but after I was put at the Al Afifa once by British Council, it was my hotel of choice. Very helpful nice staff, clean rooms, great location. If you're looking for an ocean-front getaway, this is not the place, but otherwise it can't be beat!

I had a reservation for several days and as I had to arrive one day earlier I had to change my reservation day for one day earlier. The people there weren't helpful at all and they just wanted to hang up the phone and they weren't friendly at all. It was really an unpleasant experience and now I have my reservation there but no for one day ...

Warm and Welcoming

We stayed in the Nadia Suite. It was beautiful with a view of the pool. Breakfast by the pool was delicious- mangoes, eggs to order, cafe au lait and always special smiles to our then 8 yr.old son - and sometimes ice cream for breakfast too. The serivce was always prompt, thorough and personable. They could not do enough to make us feel like home.
