I stayed at the Omni last week and had the absolute worst experience I have ever had at an hotel. First the reception guy, Chris, I do not think could be any more ruder to a guest. Second we found 3 Security guards sleeping on DUTY!!! We later found out that 3 vehicles were broken into in the parking lot. Then the security guards that were awake ...
I frequent Austin for weekend getaways and chose the Omni for the first time, as I got a great rate on Hotwire. First I will say the rooms were small but nice. The housekeeping was very friendly, as were the bellhops. However, the first night I came back to lobby after a night out with friends. I am in my 30s, and not some college kid cruising ...
This was a very nice hotel. The staff exceeded my expectations...the front desk staff was always cheerful and helpful, I always had the door opened for me and the gentleman that work outside are friendly and fun. The rooms below the 13th floor have been updated. The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms very nice. The gym is also great. ...
I had my wedding there and the mislead me to believe the pricing and that I was going to get thing included for no charge. The withdrew money from account witih asking. And so many other things that I would not wish for any bride to be.
The OMNI hotel secretly overcharges their customers for "odds and ends". I was charged for lip balm, the person behind me was charged for a movie, another patron was charged for a movie, and another was charged for another "locked cabinet" item. Once I finally had my bill cleared (20 minutes) I was suspicious, but satisfied. ...
The staff was very rude to us from the beginning. The area is close to 6th street but thats it. Not a very young crowd and very pretentious. Also the shower didn't drain properly and room service took forever to come. Not worth the expensive price tag.
This is the nicest hotel in Austin, the staff is very customer service oriented...very clean ....close to 6th street....can't imagine a nicer place to stay ....The parking could be less expensive.
Great value, but not quite a luxury retreat! Can not compare to other Omni hotels... stay at the Driskill, Four Seasons or Intercontinental F S Austin hotel.
Pros: nice location, stylish lobby and bar; friendly service
Cons: noisy - proximity to 6th street leads to lots of street noise filtering in; rooms are poorly soundproofed - we were awoken at 4am both nights by loud neighbors; beds need to be replaced - not very comfy I'm sure the elite Omni executive rooms live up to 4 star quality, but ...
