I loved it there, its and older hotel and rooms on the creek are great, staff iwonderful and puts you so at ease, its a must enjoy place, in a quiet place up the hill from from town,
It was gross!! We left early due to the fact that we hated the place. Everything seemed old and dirty. The first room we were put in, I would not have let my dog sleep in. They put us in a better room after we complained, but it was still nothing like the pictures online. I would not stay there again - ever!!

had booked a honeymoon suite at the Sydney James Mountain lodge through XXXXXX. We were to have stayed there from 10/9 thru 10/12. I paid the cost of the room at the time of the reservation on 9/26. The lodge advertised a honeymoon suite with king size bed, Jacuzzi, fireplace and a balcony overlooking a creek. When we arrived, on 10/9, the person ...
Hotel was nice. We had a king suite. But we couldn't get the fireplace to work. Someone had to help us. A specific employee wasn't very nice about it. But overall it was fine. It's a little ways to walk to downtown tho. No free breakfast. They had a restaurant tho. No lie the hotel could use some updates to.

YUCK! NOT MEANT FOR A ROMANTIC GETAWAY!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/01/09
My husband chose this place for a romantic getaway. VERY DISAPPOINTED! Room was not completely as described. OLD, SMELLY, OUTDATED, HAD STAINED CARPET, AND UGLY DECOR! We had a creekside room with balcony. Only positives: listening to the water at night and the huge jacuzzi tub. But,with the tub, it took FOREVER for it to fill with water. Don't ...
My 2 daughters & I stayed 5 nites during the week of 7/4...nothing fancy, but the price was great! No smells, very clean. Friendly staff and the 3 pools were great! The bathroom was small but rooms were a good size. A microwave in the room would have been handy. The walk to town is not too bad, but the trolley stops right out front which makes ...

I will say that you get what you pay for here..We decided to go cheap and stay in the courtside and that was a bad idea! Nothing really wrong with the room, no bad smells like some people say just not updated. For a young couple like me and my husband the walk was just find. The staff was really nice..no complaints really cause of the price but ...
We had a room creekside, that was nice. Also had a fireplace, pilot light was out so we couldn't light it early the next morning without the help of a maintenance person! One of the lights in the bathroom was just a bare bulb, & the bathroom is TINY! The hotel room did need repainted. I know it's an old hotel, but..... What we ate ...
My family and I stayed there July 07. We stayed in a room that was creekside, and loved it. The indoor pool was a little cold, but the design was neat. I thought it was reasonable and didnt see anything wrong with the motel other than a long walk to the strip.

Suprisingly pleased

Last minute trip. It was Valentines weekend and all our favorite places were booked. I was extremely pleased with the hotel and staff. The negative comments/user reviews must have been for the section of the hotel across the street. (It was under renovation). Our rooms were creekside. A very good value for the money and close to downtown.
