My son is 26, going since he was one and is still going. At one point we rented ten cabins at a time for family members. Slowly the numbers became less ...

Owners wife very rude!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/31/05
We stayed 2 years in a row for Americade. We have family that has stayed for many years also. It was fine, however we called to make reservations for this summer, and the owners wife was so rude on the phone. She sounded like we put her out by calling. News flash...That's your job! She told me I should make my plans at least a year before ...

Above Log Cabin
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/24/05
We loved the place, the cabin didn't have a sitting room, but an efficient kitchen. The cabin #12 was well worth the money. The location on the Lake was great. Far enough away from the village but close enough to Bolton Landing, where we rented boats, and ate dinners. The owners (Ernie and Lillian) are wonderful people, you have to realize ...

Not a great experience!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/10/05
We had thought we were staying in a typical "main lodge". The rooms were tiny and rustic. The woman & co-owner at the front desk was not very friendly. The pool was very dirty. The airconditioner had no switch to turn it on and off. They had an old swing set that you couldn't even get to because of huge mud puddles in front of it. I would recommend going with a brand name hotel where you can usually count on quality.

Comfortably Rustic
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/01/05
The duplex cabins are comfortably simple, and breakfast at the lodge is great. If rustic under the tall pine trees is something you'd enjoy, this is the right place on Lake George. We visit every year and enjoy both the beach Alpine Village has to offer and the wonderful grounds. Thank you.

Love the wood fireplace
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/16/05
Loved the wood fire in the rustic cabins. The owner's wife is very rude, she accused us of stealing wood when we went to pick up wood we had previously paid for. Husband told us to not worry about her, just ignore her. So we did. She huffed and she puffed, but when she realized she was being ignored she went away and we never saw her again. I'd stay again, but know to ignore the old lady.
