The idiots at the GSR could not figure out a way to let in their PAYING guests and the classic cars while keeping out the cruise spectators. As a consequence we drifted around the exterior entrances calling security until they finally let us in. I will avoid this hotel and encourage others to do so as well.

NEW RENOVATIONS PAY OFF
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 07/30/08
This hotel looks like a vegas-type hotel. Most Reno hotels are dated and this is much more modern. Casino small but machines were paying off. Rooms were nice. The restuarant selection is not the greatest but Starbucks was a good addition for morning coffee. I would stay there again.
The renovated Summit rooms are quite nice with comfortable beds and nice views. Room service is great and the attendants are polite. Close to the airport. Tons of restaurants and a Starbuck's in the lobby. Downsides are: it's close to the airport so you hear the planes all evening, the check-in can take forever- they never have more ...

Not what I expected, Nothing Grand about it...
By Michelle C, 07/20/08
My husband and two daughters booked a two day stay at the Grand Sierra Resort Hotel. Let me say there was nothing Grand about our room. I was told when I book by phone that the hotel was undergoing room renovations. I was very clear and asking for a already renovated room. I was told we would be given a newly renovated Junior Suite. Sounds ...

I made these reservations 1 1/2 mo. ahead. On arrival desk seemed in a scurry to find us a room. To bad they did. The room was at the very end of a very long hall. The room itself was FILTHY! There was trash on the bathroom floor, the toilet was never cleaned, there was cigeratte burns on the floor, the end table and the BEDDING! There is NO ROOM ...

Wonderfull Night
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 02/18/08
My wife and I recently booked a night on 2/14/08 at the grandsierra in the grand suite room 2030 and we were both very impressed and pleased by the service of the entire staff from check in to check out. The suite was very clean and roomy with modern decor and a view of the snow cap mountains. I highly suggest to any couples looking for romantic get away to book a room in the summit suite side and enjoy all that the hotel has to offer.

Anti customer satisfaction
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 01/23/08
Disliked everything!!! The staff make it a very unhappy visit from the tv not working and taking 2 hours to fix, fee for internet use when one spends $185 per night is unacceptable, very rude staff! Won't stay again! Most of machines not working.

The Summit
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 12/25/07
Booked our trip online at GreatestTravelValues and had a delightful experience. We got a one bedroom room at the Summit, there is a difference between the Grand Sierra and the Summit Hotel portions. The Sumit is much better. For value one of the best Hotels we have run across. The rooms are great for adults, lighting is perfect for romantic times. ...

avoid this hotel the Grand Sierra Reno
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 11/20/07
1/2 hour to check in through three people. Two nasty women, and 1 intelligent efficient and kind young woman: I am a biz traveler, so if I am flying out early am from Reno I stay in Reno. I arrived at this hotel's front desk with a copy of my online reservation which was made at their own web site. The first young woman who was supposed to ...

Funeral Home
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 11/07/07
Seriously look at it's Casino Photos. It's looks just like a Funeral Home. Weekend trip and it's dead inside. Nice people, but really quite boring. Best for slow retired people, however most retirees I know want more action that this. They could easily fit twice as many machines and tables in there, but there's nobody to play ...
