I'm not sure where to start. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, with semi-transparent (worn?) polyester sheets and hard, lumpy pillows. The air-conditioner was so noisy, we turned it off and opened the window, which was screenless. Amenities were few - basic shampoo & 1 soap, thin towels. All furniture, fixtures, flooring, carpeting, ...

The hotel is in need of some serious updating/remodeling--everything looked very old and worn out, including carpeting, bedding, bathroom etc. Much of the hotel showed signs of wear and tear and doesn't look like it has been cared for very well. Also, there was a bad, musty smell to the room. The price ($99) was way too high for the poor quality of the hotel.

Apparently this was a Red Lion franchise, but is no longer. Red Lion must have bailed out before dumping money into updating the hotel, but the current owner continues to charge rates equal to Red Lion. I have stayed at a number of Red Lion Hotels over the years, but this one in Butte, Mt. was a real letdown. The room was dingy with stained walls and curtains. Our room had a foul smell the moment we opened the door. Motel was full so couldn't move to another room. Opened windows to air out room. When we returned in the evening it was raining so we shut the windows. The stench was so bad during the night that we woke up with burning noses at 3 a.m. Price of room was jacked up for the busy weekend ...
