We stayed here in August of 2008. Our daughter was 2 at the time, and there was plenty for her to do. It will just get better for her as she gets older. The rooms are clean and nice (not fancy). The breakfast is good. The food in the hotel is good. My only complaint was the service at check-in - we waited over 20 minutes to check-in. But after that, the service was better. We are returning in 2 weeks and looking forward to it!
Room was nice with bunk beds for the kids & very clean. Kids (ages 5, 7 & 9) loved the water park & pool, and the movie night at the pool. Great view of the lake, great staff & service. We loved the free drink tokens at happy hour & tables outside by the pool. We'll be back!!

Not that great!!

Water Park was good for the kids however the rooms were another story. I found mine like a road side Motel not a Hotel and for the price I paid it wasnt worth it. The decor was dark and the furniture was outdated. The floors were dirty (dont walk bare feet).
The breakfast room was so busy and it wasnt cleaned quick enough for the amount of ...
Being a parent sometimes it can get a bit long when you stay at a place geared for children, but wow this place had a great combination for both adult and child. My daughter had fun with all the water stuff, it was nice and warm in there so when I wasn't in the water with her I didn't freeze, and I loved the convence of food and drink ...
When we stay here, we like to have a room overlooking Lake Superior, and they're always nice and clean. The waterpark inside is also lots of fun for my children who always have a blast. Located right of of Highway 35, it's more then convenient and easy to find. The price, when not on some kind of special, is outrageously high which is a downer. I'll probably stay here again when prices are cheaper.

Other Guests are Rude!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/11/09
The Edgewater staff is absolutely amazing at dealing with some of the crabby, stuck up, 'wanna be royalty' people that comes to the Edgewater. I have been a guest for almost 20years. In my experience, I have seen people make ridiculous complaints about the rates for rooms and sleeping arrangements for their kids.
People, you get what you ...

Outragious Weekend Roomrates and Poor Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/11/08
This place tries to charge you for everything. The weekend rates are two to three times the weekday rates. When I booked on line and checked in, they tried to charge me double the quoted rate stating "well our room rates went up since you booked with us". They also put me in a room across the street. This ment I had to walk with my young ...

What ever happened to customer service?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/08
We've stayed at this hotel for years for the weekend of the inline marathon. On this particular weekend thousands of skaters flood the Duluth and since most of the hotels are full to capacity, they can charge ridiculous "Special Weekend" fees. The Best Western Edgewater (previous management) was one of the only exceptions in town ...
They play a movie on the side of the hotel that happens to the side of the kids suites and mount the speaker on the wall. The play the move so lound it actually rattles the walls. Called 3 times to ask them to turn it down and they didnt. I finally did it myself on the 3rd night.
The place if ...

Never again

My family of five, including three kids, ages 8 months, 3, 10 years. The 10 year old liked the waterpark, but it wasn't the place for the younger two. My son, 3 years old, couldn't swim in the pool because it starts at 3'10". He liked the playarea until the big bucket of water comes down and scares the kids. He wouldn't go ...
