what was once the highlight of every duluth trip is now history. the edgewater will never receive any of our hard earned money again. flooding toilets, shoddy service and hallways filled with screaming rugrats have replaced that 'up north charm' that was the edgewater. once bitten twice shy..you've been warned.

Discrimation of Visually Impaired
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 03/07/06
If you wear glasses and need them to be able to see, don't bother using the pool/waterpark because they will NOT allow you to wear your glasses even if you have a strap on them to hold them in place and they are plastic. No where in their literature and web site does it say that you won't be able to wear them, but, they will refuse to let ...

Disappointment
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 07/13/06
This hotel is a place that people should not stay at. If you have a wedding reception there, my suggestion would be to stay at one of the other hotels in the area!! You pay for water park tickets that you are unable to use and can't get a room without them. The last time that I checked, but if you are going to a hotel for a wedding, the last ...

You can do better
By Dr. Love, 01/03/07
Great concept having an indoor water park in Duluth during the cold winter months, but, unfortunately it was a huge disappoinment. Even though this motel uses the Best Western name, I found out that it does NOT meet the standards to be part of the Best Western member association. I am not surprised after witnessing the very run down rooms and and ...

Rip off in Rugrat land
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 06/13/07
Our family of 4 (2-children ages 2 & 13)reserved our room about a month in advance. After a 3 hour drive we waited for 15 minutes to check in, when we got to our room which was supposed to be a balcony suite over looking the waterpark we were put into a so called king suite with 2 bunk beds. It was small, dark with no windows other than to ...

While I would like to thank those that made the effort to book a block of rooms for the Fluvial Geomorphology course, I would be remiss if I did not advise that the DNR never book another room at the Edgewater Express again.
The condition of the hotel was, altogether, rather vile. The initial impression walking into the door was a smell of 30 ...

Repeat visitor won't be back!!
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 08/15/07
My family is a repeat visitor to the hotel and waterpark. During our last visit in July, we were told the room had a view, it did, the garbage dumpster area, nothing else. The room was dirty, the bathroom shower curtain had black mold on it (when housekeeping came to replace it, they agreed it was definatly mold). To top it all off, the front desk didn't care. We won't be going back!!

Horrible experience
By karen_ann_juneau, 09/18/07
Went for a wedding. They never emailed a confirmation and so we called to check our reservation in advance to make sure of the price. When we arrived the price was $60 per night higher than what they said on the phone and said the rest of the wedding party had the same price. Found out later the rest of the party was paying the cheaper price. ...

No handicap accessable rooms even if you ask for it.

Thought this place would be ideal place to go and have a place for the kids while I had a day surgery, WRONG. Elevator from desk was so small my electric scooter just fit resulting in a piece of it getting broke off the front of it. the 2nd night we had to use 2 elevators to get to our room and spent a lot of time trying to find our way around the ...

Never again
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 08/04/08
My family of five, including three kids, ages 8 months, 3, 10 years. The 10 year old liked the waterpark, but it wasn't the place for the younger two. My son, 3 years old, couldn't swim in the pool because it starts at 3'10". He liked the playarea until the big bucket of water comes down and scares the kids. He wouldn't go ...
