We paid $380 a night and got a smelly broom closet with one tiny bar of soap for both sink and shower, cheap plastic cups and a view of an air conditioner. We would NEVER go back. I was expecting a classy, nice hotel and we got a low-budget joke.
Liked the location;directly across from John Hancock Center and adjacent to the Magnificent Mile. Well kept hotel...rooms were clean, beds were comfortable
the hotel was great. the room was great. the food was great. the pool was great. the service was great. i would stay here again.

Excellent stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/09/08
I took my daughter for an overnight for her 10th birthday and we had an outstanding stay! We arrived at 2pm so could not check in until 3pm but they took our bags along with my cell number and called when the room was ready. In the meantime we toured Michigan Ave! The room was very clean and pretty and we even had an amazing view of Lake ...
I am a confirmed Starwood fan! I love the Westin, The W, and The Sheraton hotel brands. Nothing beats the heavenly beds! However, the Westin on Michigan Ave downtown Chicago just doesn't make the cut. The hotel was previously a Days Inn and even after an extensive renovation, the ol' Days Inn is still visible. The staff at the desk ...

Not as good as expected
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/30/07
A group of girls along with myself decided to drive up to Chicago, Il on 12/28/07 for an overnight stay and shopping. The Westin is located in the center of all of the shopping, that was a plus. We had reserved our rooms over the internet as they had a special rate of $189.00/night per room of which we booked two. When we arrived, they could not ...
The location of the Westin is its greatest asset. Located directly next door to the John Hancock tower, and in the heart of the great shopping of Michigan Avenue make this hotel a tremendous value for its very affordable price tag. The lobby was a great place to people watch, and the concierge and front desk were incrediably accomodating. The rooms ...

Very disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/08/07
The bottom line is that we expected more from a four star hotel and the Westin disappointed us. When we booked it, we were excited about our stay, but our accomodations quickly disappointed us, because the room was much smaller than expected and appeared to need some minor touch ups; such as paint on the woodwork, and wallpaper repair. In any ...

parking
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/04/06
I was very unhappy with the price of the parking. TOOOO Pricey. I won't go back for that reason alone. I stayed at the Palmer House Hilton and thought 20.00 was alot but to pay 41.00 for parking is CRAZY.
This hotel was in a good location for shopping, and a $10 cab ride from the museums.
The room was clean and the service was excellent, but our room was so small it was difficult to walk in. We booked our room through a "discount" website, so possibly the room we were assigned was due to that, and not representative of the hotel.
Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was wonderful, and reasonably priced.
