Good for business trip.The Marriott Waikiki was the perfect place to stay for a recent business trip. Business center right on site was convenient, but a little overpriced. Good value for the dollar!We spent a week here in February 2005. The view from the Penthouse Suite in the Pali Tower was excellent and only 2 minutes from the beach. At the quiet end of the Waikiki strip. Power was out for our first two days, however, the hotel did not charge us for those two days which was fine as we just used the hotel to sleep in basically. Good hotel for the priceConsidering how much my room cost I wasn't expecting too much but I was pleasently surprised to find that it's actually pretty good. I was in the cheapest room and it still had a t.v., balcony, refridgerator, and a decent amount of space. Won't Go Back To This HotelThe hotel is old, but it's done some updating. If you want a place just to sleep or shower (be careful they have the water direction wrong in our room)then it's ok. Don't expect anything high quality. We come back to the room at 3:00 and the house cleaning hadn't showed up. The help was not that great. Best bang for your buckThe staff at Ocean Resort were very friendly and accommodating. The location of the hotel was ideal. It's at the quieter end of Waikiki Beach but only 5 minutes (on foot) to all the action. There is a trolly stop near the hotel...you can go anywhere. Don't want to go back!!The rooms were very much in need of being updated and remodeled. The carpet was very soiled from years of usage. Not bad when your right thereThe maids were nicer than everyone at the reception desk. Not terrible service just slow, not very helpful or "talkative". Avoid the restaurant and take the walk to another eatery. The decor reminds me of a nursing home. Slight Problems from the beginningWhen we arrived we were told there was no parking for us BUT they did tell us where we could park instead that was extremely close and cheaper. That made up for it.

Friendly HotelThe accomodations were very good, the staff were extremely friendly (Front desk, Restaurant staff and other employees).
The environment was comfortable and very relaxed, it is a big hotel but you never saw tense employees running around. Housekeeping was great, only need at this location was a coffee maker and a microwave.
