Likes: Kinda cheap. A 1-star hotel that charges a 3-star price.
Dislikes: Nickel and dime you on everything. Local calls are charged 50 cents. 800 toll free calls also 50 cents. Only two small soaps provided. Towels are only 30 inches long. So much for wrapping them around a 34-inch waist. Housekeeping kept knocking on my door (twice), asking ...

Motel 6-like
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/14/07
General: serviceable; like a Motel 6 with a prettier lobby & small nice pool area (closed). Quiet. Double bed was comfy. Fan + a/c (takes a while to cool--we left on), fridge, no ice bucket (got a big cup in lobby). Hallway sterile; Had short stairway to access the elevator, which was musky. Staff: friendly Restaurant: closed (for ...

I have to say I was a little worried about the hotel after reading some of the reviews on the web - but are experience with the Maui Seaside Hotel was wonderful, we stayed there Feb 22 - Feb 27, 2007.
The location is perfect, tons of resturants, grocery stores, movies, the mall is very close in case you needed something you forgot to bring. ...

The location in Kahului (central Maui) is perfect if used as it should be, a hub or starting point. This hotel provides excellent access to the Road to Hana, highways to Kihei/Wailea, Lihaina/Ka'anipali, Iao Valley and so on.
Many would say this hotel does not measure up to their expectations. I would say this is largely due to one being ...

Good value hotel.

This Hotel was good for the money. It served its purpose for what we wanted. Since we did not spend a lot of time in the hotel except for sleeping and showering it was worth the price. As we did not need to be paying a lot of money if we wern't going to be there. The rooms were clean and the front desk service was very nice and helpful. I would use this hotel again.
This is a 1950's era motel. Right on the beach with very well cared for grounds. The rooms are fairly small, but clean and the staff are very pleasant. If you come to Maui to stay in your room, you may be a little disappointed. If you want a pleasant clean place to sleep at a good price, you'll be happy with it.
We stayed here for 3 weeks in 2003. For the record -- the rooms were very clean the staff was exceptional the location for us was perfect the pool was well tended and the grounds were attended to every day we had our own private little beach. Whether you are on a budget or just frugle like us EVEN FOR THE PRICE is was a great place to stay !!!

First trip to Maui. Accommodations were excellent and staff friendly.. View magnificent. Road trip to Lahana and the scenery to get there was beautiful..
After a mixup with my reservation, yahoo travel attempted to adjust the rate but the hotel would not assist them. Parking was lousy (lot full), the room was a walk (a travel to the far side of the hotel 3rd floor with no elevator - the hotel only has one set of elevators which are located on the far side of the hotel which was useless to us). We ...
We were only at the hotel to just sleep...why pay an arm and a leg in Hawaii for a hotel?? There's so much to see and do on Maui so why pay $400 per nite at a resort!? The staff was VERY friendly except in the morning at breakfast (I don't think they were apart of the hotel anyway). They gave us addresses, maps, directions and always asked ...
