  • Great Experience
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/03/07
We loved our stay here. The environment was pristine and serene. No TV's or phones in the rooms was great for spending quality time with my partner. The history of the springs was fascinating and we spent one evening in the lobby watching the movie "Creature from the Black Lagoon" that was filmed here.

We took the swamp boat ...

  • Take a step back in time!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/01/06
For a unique experience take a step back in time at Wakulla Springs Lodge. It has a unique ambiance, unlike that of bed and breakfast, or a travel motel, Wakulla Springs offers every visitor a look at Florida during the 1930's. It contains original furniture from the 1930's, water fun, Tourist Chess games on gaming tables, and the ...

I always loved to go to Wakulla when I was a student at Florida State...the waters are perfect on a hot summer day, and the boat rides are entertaining and educational. I personally enjoy the Jungle Boat ride the best!

I have moved away from FL and since then I have returned to Fl every year and visted Wakulla twice and have stayed in the ...

  • Couldn't have asked for better
    By Betty, 11/26/05
We stayed here on the 20th and 21 of November. It was a wonderful and pleasant place to stay, much like a B&B. It is a very old historic lodge that is on the national registry and they have maintained its original ambiance. True, there are no TVS, radios, or internet; the romms are spacious, very clean and nicely decorated. I highly recommend ...

  • hidden treasure
    By Debra, 08/28/05
Imagine a hotel built by the richest man in the state of Florida. A man who spared no expense when it came to the amenities. Wakulla Springs Lodge is such a place and the man was Edward Ball and the year was 1937.
We spent five wonderful days there and look forward to our next visit. It is a wonderful place to retreat to.
And the food, ah why ...

  • Never Again
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/07/05
We arrived at midnight to find a hideous second floor corner room with very old, peeling furniture, dirty bath, dirty window screens, dirty window blinds, lumpy bed - all for $95! By far the worst room we've ever stayed in. Drive on!

  • I love this place.
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/01/05
I love the place, which I first visited in 1950--before it was a state park. I miss the limpkins, but understand that the state is trying to lure them back with apple snails, which is what they eat. The building is wonderful, and the food excellent. Rooms are pretty and comfortable. However, the dining room service leaves something to be ...

  • Unique Old Florida Treasure
    By downtowndiva, 06/15/04
If you need first-class, Ritz Carlton "fawning" service, this is not the lodge for you. But if you are tired of cookie-cutter motels, want a taste of old Florida, and have a love for adventure, this place is a must. And your kids will absolutely love it; I promise.

  • Customer Service Lacks
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/09/04
The people who work here can be down right rude, the food is highly expensive and poor quality. The food tastes awful. The sevants have a habit of going into the rooms whenever they feel like "using" them. I know I used to work there. BEWARE!!!!!!!

  • Nice place

A nice place to go and relax. Also, it has a spectacular breakfast. Wonderful scenery and a lovely lobby with the alligator.
