Hassles, Hasselles in Paradise, the Casa MarinaWhen you rent a room in a hotel, you expect free access to the facility, to be able to come and go without impediment. You don’t expect a gang of thugs (two or more + uniformed police), that were not Waldorf Astoria Casa Marina, Key West staff, to stop you at the hotel entrance and demand identification. Luxury Compared To What?First room was dirty, hair and a women's disposable razor on the bathroom floor. Needs some touch-ups, looking a bit shabby. Was quite disappointing. Left a day early to stay in Ft. Lauderdale.OVERALL

Worst trip everThey should be ashamed to call this a luxury hotel. The first room they gave us it was so small, dirty, even the bathroom ceiling was falling down. We were finally able to switch rooms since they didn't have any bed rails for small children. We were offered an air mattress for the kids, which didn't fit in our room. Inside nice, but outside is spectacular...The location of the hotel and the views from the back of the property are spectacular. The pools are very nice as are the beach areas and anything water related. Our 14 yr old son went para-sailing with the hotel water sports staff and really enjoyed it - and it was actually a good value. Other rentals, such as the jet ski, were overpriced. Loved it!!!My expectations weren't high, as I pricelined this hotel/resort. When hearing that it was our 10th anniversary upon check-in (true), our agents Chris & MJ upgraded us to an oceanview room with a balcony, and gave us a coupon to use on either food or drinks at the outdoor bar or cafe. Don't pay for parking!The hotel is very nice. The pools are excellent. The beach is serviceable, but the hammocks are a nice tough. The wireless internet does not work and the "business area" is 2 computers with the worst bandwidth I have experienced in 7 years. Bad Feng ShuiAfter spending a fortune on renovating this hotel, the owners have done little to make the rooms comfortable. The rooms are too small with too much furniture and you are faced with a full length mirror on the side of the bed. I did not get one good night of sleep and went home exhausted.
