BOOKED A TRAVEL PACKAGE THRU ALLEIGANT AIR TO THIS 4 STAR RESORT AND GOT THERE TO FIND THIS HOTEL THE EQUIVALENT OF A DUMP TRYING TO DISGUISE ITSELF AS A GRAND RESORT ( HA HA ) THIS HOTEL WAS SO OLD OLD OLD AND HAD A SOME POINT HAD AN ATTEMPT TO BE FIXED UP, BUT THE ATTEMPT WAS HORRIBLE. THEY NEED TO QUIT ADVERTISING IT IS A 4 STAR AND STATE IT IS REALLY EQUIVALENT TO A 2 STAR MAYBE!
The resort was exactly what you see on the web. The rooms were just like the photos. Very clean, small balcony but we knew that going in. Staff was wonderful and quick to help with anything. The resturants were great overall... the flying brige was just okay my least favorite one. But the Palm Court was amazing great dinner and brunch to die ...

Long to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/22/07
Our family stayed at the Grand Island Resort last year for 2 nights before traveling to Disney World for 4 days. We thought Disney would have been the highlight of the vacation for the kids. We were greatly mistaken. The kids loved it at the beach. Wish we would have know that before, we could have saved a fortune.
The hotel was gorgeous! ...

Can't wait to go back

We had an incredible time at the Island Grand. Our 2 kids say that it is the best vacation we ever took. There was always something for the kids to do while mom & dad could lounge by the pool or gulf. There was always plenty of cabanas - no rushing to make sure we could get one in the morning. We traveled one day to Tarpon Springs which was a lot of fun.
I have to admit the ads were very attention worthy, but we booked our stay and were kind of disappointed. The outside looked very classy and upscale. Secure entrace with a gate guard. We went in late September expecting minimal crowding. It wasn't crowded, our room had mold on the ceiling and the a/c condensation leaked on our bathroom ...

Look for a better place to stay.

We recently stayed at this resort and wound up checking out as quickly as possible. We were there for about 4 hours and had several problems with either the service or the room/quality. Problems: First and most importantly, if you have small children, request a room on the first floor. My 4 year old son walked out onto the 6th floor balcony ...

Wow! Great Place to See Some Boobs!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/22/06
This place was a great family resort with a lot of hot moms. Visit it someday. The service was excellent with hot watresses and housekeepers. They need to keep hiring hot help or else they will lose the young customers they have gained. Great management with a wonderful property filled with many amenties to meet and beat all guest's expectations.
In a few weeks we are going to the Island Grand for the 3rd time and we are really looking forward to our 7 day stay. We stay in a beachfront parlor room with a balcony. The room is beautiful and very clean. The staff is great. We enjoy the adult only pool with Salty,s Beach Bar right nest to it. The beach is very clean and you don't have to walk for a mile to get to the water. There is nothing that we dislike about the Island Grand.

Location & ammenities are tops!

Expecting this place to be a run of the mill busy, loud resort in a crowded neighborhood of hotels, we only booked 2 nights. Wow were we surprised! Inside this resort, we found all employees in their tropical uniforms to be polite and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and kept impeccably clean. Whether it was one of the many restaurants, a pizzeria ...
Ok, first of all there are so many wrong things about this "resort" i can't even begin to say. Ok. The reason they call this place a resort is because they bought two hotel buildings and turned them into one big one. There is one baby pool, a toddler pool, a kids pool and an adult pool. The kids pool is about the size of a pool you ...
