We arrived on Christmas Eve. I booked us the Holiday Special which included free parking and discounted breakfast. Even though businesses closed early for Christmas Eve, the both restaurants were open. The wait staff was very attentive and the food was good. A little expensive but good.

As mentioned in other reviews, request a room away from the side of the building facing the railroad tracks. Otherwise, great hotel for the price and the location can't be beat.

The Holiday Inn Capitol exceeded our expectations. The location was across the street from the metro so getting there from Ronald Regan Airport was a breeze. We were in walking distance from the Mall. The staff was courteous and very helpful with our room reservations to finding our way around D.C. We would be glad to stay with you again.

My husband, son, and I stayed at the hotel during the cherry blossom festival at the end of March 08. I, unfortunately, did not read the reviews warning people about the trains. This hotel worked so well for our 5 day stay in Washington. Using the winter special gave us a great rate and reduced parking fees (we stayed between Christmas and New Year's). The hotel was clean and in a good location, but we were in a room right above the bar and had to listen to a loud band until 9:30 on a few of the nights. If you stay here, ask to be placed in a room away from the trains and away from the bar.

Restaurants were overpriced and not that good. Will not stay here again

The hotel is conveniently located close to the Smithsonians. It is just two blocks from the Air & Space. Even though it is adevertised as being close to the Capitol, it is quite a walk even thought you can see the Capitol.
The rooms are adequate for the time that you spend in them.
Avoid the 21 for meals, much too expensive.
