Good bye
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/22/09
Say Good bye. For this great 1700 hotel, resterant is closing. It should go to the histoical society. I have many memories as a child growing up and having many holidays at this the tavern. The old gift store was great. I moved away and now I live in California. It is a shame to see it be closed. It is New England at it's best. I will never be able to take my husband to this great hotel. Jacquelin Norton - Daugherty
We really didn't like the food, our waitress was no help picking out a dish, and the ambiance was fair, at best

The place was falling apart, needed plaster, paint and a good cleaning. The $22.95 Sundy brunch was nothing better than the $5.95 Denny's special! You get your one cup of coffee and have to beg for a second cup! They had to include the tip in the check because you didn't get any service to tip for.
While my boyfriend and I were traveling through 9 states on the east coast we were only able to stay one night at the Silvermine. It's a charming inn, very clean and well maintained historic building. With our very fast paced trip, it was nice to have a night to relax. Very romantic setting as well with the creek behind the inn.
for personal reasons had to find a place to stay for one month. could not have chosen a friendlier, more helpful, more beautiful place...was given special rate, very helpful and accommodating staff, secluded country location yet very close to major area and transportation to NYC.

Beautiful Spot
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/26/06
Just got back to Texas after spending the weekend at the Silvermine Tavern. It is a beautiful place to unwind for the weekend.
No TV, cellphone reception, internet access. Wonderful to get reconnected to a loved one.
