HuntingStayed here because it was clsoe to the New Mexico-Colorado border and we could use it as a base camp to hunt both states. - The rooms were nice and very reasonable. The people were very friendly and teh hunting and scenery was great. We will be back in the summer to ride the narrow gauge steam train that winds through the mountains and goes places we couldn't get to with our atv's.1 of 1 Yahoo! Great Place to Stay in AntonitoWhen searching for lodging near the CTSR train depot, all we could initially find were recommendations to stay in Alamosa (which is about 40 miles away!). Luckily, we stumbled onto the Narrow Gauge RR Inn which is located right next door to the depot! It has been here all along - who knew? A nice, quiet little place. Train buffs will love the Narrow Gauge RR InnWe were told that the only available accomodations for train riders (The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad) were in Chama, New Mexico. Fortunately, we found that a nice little motel was available *right next to* (as in "you can walk over") the train depot on the Antonito, Colorado side! What a nice quiet placeIt is an older, but quiet place. In fact both my wife and I loved it. There was not a lot in the gift shop, but in the eating establishment next door, eating was great. Go 29 miles to town and you can find all the entrapments you need. However, for a place to stay, ride the train, and visit the nearby area, you can not beat this place.
