The Lodge has nothing to do with Yosemite Blue Butterfly Inn!!!

My ratings are for Yosemite Blue Butterfly Inn.

OUT OF DATE & LOOKING TIRED, INSIDE & OUT.
ALOT OF CONCRETE EXTERNALLY, NOT WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT IN SUCH A BEAUTIFUL AREA. ALSO, LACKING IN ON-SITE AMENITIES; ONE AWFUL FAST FOOD RESTAURANT & A SECOND RESTAURANT WHICH CANT CATER FOR THE TOTAL NUMBER OF GUESTS WITHOUT HAVING TO WAIT AN HOUR FOR A TABLE IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE! OUR ...

This was our 4th stay at Yosemite View Lodge and our last. Our prior stays were good but things seem to have gone downhill drastically.

We had ants in our room, a hole in a sheet and also in a pillow case, a towel with a frayed edge and a filthy coffee pot.

Not what I expect to experience when paying $189 per night.

I took my girlfriend here on New Year's on the same day I proposed. The manager treated us like royalty-free upgrade to Honeymoon Suite with Jacuzzi Tub, amazing river view, and a bottle of champagne. We couldn't have been happier, so much so we're getting married in Yosemite and staying at the hotel again.

Get a room with a River View and you will not be disappointed.

Having read the description of Yosemite View Lodge on the web we were really looking forward to our stay. We were extremely disappointed. We stayed here in late June 2007, and the best thing that we can say about this place is the marvelous location. This is truly a "riverfront property", only a 7 minute drive from the Park's Arch Rock (west) entrance, with the beautiful Merced River flowing parallel to the entire motel only 5-6 yards from our patio/balcony. Oakhurst is an hour outside the park and this place is 10 minutes from the valley floor. The breakfast is pretty bad though so consider bringing your own food and take advantage of the kitchenette in your room...that's what it's there for! The front desk help had no customer service skills whatsoever. They could not keep up billing and reservations. They tried to charge us again at checkout after we had pre-paid for the room-they couldn't find our payment on the computer. When we confronted them on the discrepancies, they couldn't explain the problems.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and a welcome place to return to after a long day at the park.

The balcony overlooking the Merced river was a delightful place to enjoy your morning coffee. Being so close to the park it was easy to have breakfast and make it too the park for early light photography.
