have stayed here numerous times in the past (and at w's all over the world). for some reason, this time the hotel felt like it was trying too hard to be cool. felt more like a club than a hotel. perhaps it's always been like that and i'm just getting older. regardless, won't be staying there again anytime soon.
Generally a very good stay. It's got all the elements that makes a W enjoyable. I stayed in a suite, which was large and nicely 'styled'. Sometime certain elements aren't perfect, and it can be expensive, but overall, good stuff.
I was traveling for business and stayed at the W in Westwood for 2 nights. The layout of the hotel is fantastic for taking advantage of the nice weather in LA. Huge pool deck and bar designed to be great during the day and night. The rooms are all suites so they are huge and well stocked. The service in the hotel was also excellent. The bars ...
When you pull up in a cab to this hotel, the first thing you think is "is there really a hotel here?". The W is tucked away in what seems to be a mostly residential neighborhood in Westwood, about 4 or 5 blocks away from Westwood's shops and restaurants. The front desk staff are very helpful and responsive and were more than happy ...
I am in general an enormous fan of W hotels, and this one lives up to my expectations. The rooms were incredibly hip without losing comfort (i hate it when other places try so hard that they forget we really want to be cozy in our own rooms). The staff was both good looking and personable - also, not always a combination. All nestled in a very leafy neighborhoody area of LA.
I chose the W Westwood for a recent trip on the reccommendation of 2 friends who raved about the hotel. I wasn't at all dissapointed! It is conveniently located with a bunch of shops and restaurants in walking distance and the bar in the hotel is a great place to hang out as well. The rooms were much larger than other W Hotels that I've ...

loved the friendliness of the staff at this W. california casual, but very responsive to every request. hotel was typical W with the open lobby / bar, atypical in that the music wasn't blaring as you walked through. that was a nice change. room was large one bedroom suite. we'd meant to stay in hollywood, but all hotels there were sold ...
Really great hotel that is new and nicely designed. The "Cyber Suite" to which I got a free upgrade was huge (3 rooms!). During a long wait at check-in the front desk staff gave me a free drink at the bar while I waited. Pricey, but worth it.
I'm a big fan of W hotels overall and was particularly impressed by this one. The Los Angeles edge to this W was a nice touch - the front desk guy with the big fuzzy lid, the wide sweeping entrance to the hotel, the gym with a couple of pieces of equipment outdoors and the drinking water spiked with strawberries and mint...
What's an urban chic experience like the W doing in a leafy residential area of Westwood, with nary a loft in sight?? No matter, it's close to UCLA and makes no compromises with the classic W approach to minimalist modern luxury. Cushy beds are the best--you will sleep like a dream. Rooms are smallish but well laid out, encouraging ...
