This hotel was very cool and sexy, but not over the top. I also liked that it was in Westwood on a quiet side street, away from Hollywood and it's craziness. The crowd was still young and hip, but it had less attitude. The rooms were small, but very well done. The beds were to die for! Also, you could walk to the best place for an ice cream sandwich in Los Angeles, Diddy Riese. Worth a stay.
It was trendy and classy. It reeked of old and new money. The hotel bar/restaurant was a great place to see and be seen. The rooms were totally Hollywood. The pool area was chic.

All Sizzle and No Steak

The hotel looks like a remodeled dormatory but it's nicely appointed. It was the worst check-in experience ever! My wife and I waited over four hours for a handicapped room! Front desk very abbrasive and gruff. It took bell desk 15 minutes to find our bags. Pretty much a party hotel complete w/ small pool and expensive drinks. This hotel ...

Love the W
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/10/05
I love the W in Westwood. First of all it has the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. It's in a quiet little neighborhood that was safe to walk around and enjoy. The staff and there whatever/whenever policy is an amazing help in whatever way you need them. It is always an enjoyable experience to stay at the W.

A romantic rendevous
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/23/05
From the moment I walked out of the car and was helped with my luggage, to checking into my room, the service here is unbelievable and very easily located. The atmosphere here is friendly and swanky and it has turned me onto W hotels everywhere. White fluffy towels and very nice amenities in the room top off a great stay.
Colleagues had to share a suite, and i had to wait an hour before checking in for housekeeping to finish my room (even though I arrived at 8pm). That being said, the hotel is great - just probably avoid during peak times or big events in LA.

Take heed when you book room...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/23/05
If you want to stay in a really nice suite, this W Hotel offers incredible space and it's typical modern decor. Unlike other W's these suites are HUGE with a living area, separate office area, and a bedroom. It feels like a lush corporate apartment. However, make certain that you reserve an upper floor (6+) side or back-facing room to ...

This hotel was wonderful! Nice big suite with plenty of room and the most comfortable bed ever! Everyone we dealt with was very nice and helpful. Within walking distance to shops and dining. Right across the street from UCLA.

You need to be a 'somebody' to get service here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/21/05
This hotel is as hip as you can get with the dim lighting and video screens in the elevator. Staff were a tad on the snobby side and not very attentive when you wear casual clothing or sit on your own. I had to ask 3 times to have my dinner order taken by someone and it was not exactly busy. After waiting over half an hour, I finally received my ...
