I would not recommend the Palace. The rooms had a foul odor. The work out facility was great, but way too small for the hotel size. You would think that for $459 per there would be no need for an additional expense for internet service. To top it off no one checked the alarm clock in the room and it went off at midnight and five after. The lobby and location were great, but did not make up for the rest of the experience. I will not go back.

My husband and I are S. F. natives and always wanted to stay here. We're in our 60's and the wait was well worth it. It's incredibly beautiful down to every detail and the service was perfection. One of the best beds we have ever slept in. There are more luxurious accomodations but this perfect blend of old opulence, history and ...

Great place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/18/06
The beds were very comfortable and plenty of pillows. Bottled water in the room was a plus as was the coffee and paper in the lobby every morning. The room was smaller that I had expected but was beautifully decorated. There was some loud noises at night but I brought ear plugs which helped. The staff was very helpful and when it was mentioned ...
I used to work for McKesson Corp. and corporate headquarters was across the street. So, I have stayed here a few times both on the company dime and my own. There are two absolute musts if you stay here. One, have a drink in the Pied Piper Bar even if just to look at Parrish's painting behind the bar. But, they do have some ports that are worth ...

Experience of a life time!

The best hotel I've ever been to. Price was worth the stay. Didn't get to see the pool but will go back and do that next time. If you are in the city, this is the place to stay without a doublt. Do not past up on this hotel.
i love this hotel. the rooms are from another era with monster high ceilings, elegant furnishing and the most gorgeous dining room (serving breakfast and brunch). i often take the family to the palace as a weekend retreat from the peninsula. My kids adore the beautiful indoor pool which is very well maintained. All in all, this is close to a 5 ...
well located, wonderful staff who was knowledgeable, great rooms, very clean, friendly doormen! Room service was awesome. Everything we could possibly have wanted right at our fingertips.

Classy Hotel

Love the interior decor. Customer service always wonderful. Location not as convenient. Hotel is located a bit far from downtown, otherwise I would have given it a higher rating.
The hotel is simply amazing....you get a glimpse of days of royalty gone by with it's attention to maintaining the detail of years gone by.
Must do's: a brunch in the Garden Room. A drink at Maxfield's. A walking tour through the hotel given by the San Francisco Library.

Stayed here with my family on our first visit to SF. Great location for visiting all parts of the city; beautiful, comfortable rooms. Best breakfast buffet ever!
