The hotel looks a lot nicer in the picture than it does in the middle of the day, that's for sure. If we weren't going to the House of Blues we probably would have stayed elsewhere.
The rooms appear to be clean but the bed my friend slept in had bedbugs and she woke up with tiny, rash-like bites all over her chest and arms.
The staff were so nice with us. They helped us with everything we needed. I loved the room. Modern and complete. Big tv, dvd combo, cd, radio... Big comfortable beds. I loved the soaps and the green frog too on the bathroom!!!!
The small rooms are noisy and nothing special, but get a room by the pool or one of the upstairs suites and you'll feel like you've stepped back in time to cool, old-school Hollywood. The bar Boa is full of eye candy, the restaruant Balboa is great, and the bartender at the Balboa restaurant, McSwain, is one of the best.

The Worst!

It's 12:30am and the music is blasting. I'm in room 316 near the restaurant/lobby. I called down and they won't turn down the volume. The guy at the front desk sent me some earplugs and told me the music is part of the "hotel experience". Well, if the "experience" is about bad service and keeping guests up all night, mission accomplished. There are many better hotels in LA.

Unbelievably Bad!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
The staff on hand was very courteous and is there to assist their guest. I wish I could say the same for their Management. We arrived at the hotel at 10am not expecting a room but to let them know we were here, pay and drop off our luggage. We returned at 1:00pm and their manager Carlos said he needed to restart his computer and he would be right ...
My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for only one evening while in L.A. The room we received was small with absolutely no view, unless you wanted to look at the valet parking. The bathroom was tiny and had no ventilation, which I found to be weird. Our room was also exceptionally noisy, it must've been next to a mechanic room or something ...
The Grafton on Sunset offered a great break for three stressed-out Midwesterners. The outdoor pool was crystal clear and we spent many hours relaxing in the sunshine on lounges while drinking the complimentary, freshly-brewed iced tea.
The location of the hotel is spectacular: West Hollywood is known for it's hip, rocker vibe including ...

Nice place but...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/10/05
Too expensive for what it is. The only reason we stayed was because it was so convenient for going to the House of Blues (up the street.)
The room wasn't big enough to merit the price. The bathroom wasn't well ventilated, the beds were average and the staff was just average.

They will even find a football game.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/23/05
They will even find out what channel your boyfriend's favorite college football game is on. That's right we were scheduled to arrive the day of a game that my boyfriend refused to miss, I even called ahead and checked with the front desk to make sure that the game in question was even being televised on the west coast. When we met our ...
