Gorgeous room, wonderful view at the Top of the Mark, perfect location, helpful staff. Architecture is striking. A treat to stay at an historic landmark hotel. What's not to love?

My husband and I spent 3 wonderful nights at the Mark Hopkins. We stayed on the 3rd floor so the view wasn't spectacular but the room was quiet - my first priority! The king size bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on. The sheets and pillows were top notch. The staff offered help when they thought we needed it. The location is great but requires going up and down hills if you walk. We'll definitely stay there again!
Top of the Mark has an amazing view. Beautiful rooms and totally great service, nice weekend packages provide nice benefits at reasonable prices. Food and room service are fantastic. Totally luxury and elegant! Located on top of nob hill in heart of SF.
My stay at the Mark Hopkins Intercontinental during the San Francisco Writers Conference was one that I consider to be excellant for several reasons. This was my first trip to San Francisco and it started out horribly. A blizzard in Cleveland the day I left, created havoc for air travel. Arriving in San Francisco 6 hours late. I stayed ...
WHILE THE LOCATION WAS VERY GOOD OUT 2 MAJOR COMPLAINTS WHERE THAT OF THE 3 ROOMS WE HAD EACH ONE HAD PAPER THIN WALLS, WE HAD BEEN MOVING TO AVOID NOISE WE COULD NOT GET AWAY FROM IT AT THIS HOTEL. THE NEXT FAILURE OF THE HOTEL WAS THAT OUR ROOM WAS 90 SQ FEET SMALLER THAN ADVERTISED. WHEN WE TOOK THE COMPLAINT TO THE HOTEL STAFF IT AT FIRST FELL ...
This hotel was good in all aspects. A nice place to enjoy. Good service was given by the hotel staff, would like to visit this place again along with my family and friends.
Great location. Great building. Great reputation... but I couldn't help thinking that the rooms were a little tired (or mine at least), the staff not particularly helpful, and a hectic atmosphere where you expect dignified elegance instead. I guess the latter might not be helped by having so few elevators for so many guests. At that price, it is the small things that matter.
The Mark Hopkins hotel is a San Francisco landmark located at the top of Nob Hill, right on the cable car line and across the street from the famous Fairmont Hotel.
I recently stayed (for the second time) at the hotel during a vacation to San Francisco with my husband. We wanted to ensure that we stayed at a nice hotel and remembered the Mark ...
It isn't the cheapest hotel in SF, but the hotel is amazing. The building has been around since the 1930's and you don't see hotels like this anymore. Every inch of the building was built by real craftsman, the hotel staff are incredible, and the view from the Top of the Mark is breathtaking. I would reccomend this to anyone visiting San Francisco.

when i was in the navy, i stayed here many years ago. i decided to stay 3 nights when i visited family last year, before joining them. it was such a wonderful visit to sightsee, treat myself to recommended restaurants, & the bed was comfortable to prepare me for a full day after. i'd like to do it in '06!
