Hot water too much to ask for?We were in town for a dinner/concert and all we needed was a nice place to stay. We checked in and wanted to clean up before dinner but there was no hot water. We called the front desk and they said they would send someone up. We waited a hour and nobody came so we went to our dinner/concert and returned after 10pm. If you can overlook the rude front desk staffWe enjoy staying at this hotel so much we tolerate the absolute disinterest and rudeness of the front desk staff----It must be a pre-requisite to hiring--as we have been staying here for years and while the staff changes but the bad attitude does not! I left early!If you are looking for a hotel for business purposes, then you've found it. Its downtown near all the high rises and airport is down the street. If you were looking for a hotel to enjoy the atmosphere, more of a resort type..beware. Fantastic Cruz location!!!Location, location, location!!! Last February we took a Cruz to Mexico and decided to spend the night in San Diego after the Cruz. The Holiday Inn was directly across the street from where the ship docked. We requested a room that faced the water and the view was spectacular. I would stay there again in a hart beat.1 of 1 Yahoo! Can't wait to go back!Great hotel, no problems. Close to US Marine boot camp and airport. Would stay there again. Very clean and the kids enjoyed the pool and the beds. Great view and location!We had a great view of the Bay which we were able to enjoy from our balcony. We took a 2 hour Hornblower Bay tour right accross the street. Then we walked down to Little Italy for dinner. You have to try Fillipi's it casual but very tasty. The Midway tour wasn't in our plans but it was again right accross the street. Reservation chaosWarning - be wary of reservation commitments. In February, 2008 I reserved a block of five rooms for August. By July, reservations had been changed - some rooms downgraded, some prices raised, handicap room deleted entirely. OverpricedI went with my mother-in-law and we both agree that we would not stay there again. You paid $20. a day to park your car in their parking lot. If you request a room with a view, it's $40. a night extra. We had a leaky sink, small room (not the cleanest) and about half the people at the front act as though you're a nuisance (extremely rude ...5 of 6 Yahoo! Holiday Inn SAN DIEGO-ON THE BAYThis hotel ruined my trip. I could not sleep at night because of the Amtrak train and peolpe talking on the phone outside. You feel like they're stading by your bed. You can hear all the noise from the street. At night, every 15 -20 min, the train go by. At 4:00 AM, I wakeup by the train.

Holiday Inn Delight!Right across from the cruise ship! The view was spectacular. We went out on a 15 Day cruise, the bellmen shuttled us and our arsenal of luggage to the terminal. We reserved a Snooze and Cruise package. Our friends flew in and took the hotel shuttle to the hotel. Our vacation was great from the hotel to the ship.
