I REALLY ENJOYED MY STAY AT THIS HOTEL IT WAS VERY CLEAN AND THE BEDS WERE VERY SOFT AND COMFY. THERE WAS NO LOUD NOISE OR PEOPLE IN THE HOTEL. I AM PLANNING ANOTHER TRIP TO VISIT FAMILY IN OAKLAND WITHINTHE NEXT 2 WEEKS AND IM PLANNING ON STAYING THERE AGAIN.
It was convenient location, but we did not feel safe. The room is not nearly as clean as it should have been. There were two people in the room, and we were not given enough towels. We were way too grossed out to even use the coffee maker. The food from the restaurant smelled really greasy, not my cup of tea. Other people staying there were ...
bad neighorhood. the walls need washing in the room. bathroom floor wasn't cleaned either. the front desk was poor. loud parting at the hotel. the carpets are faded and dusty. there where holes in the walls. there was no iron either . the hotel was dirty. breakfest wasn't great either. i wouldn't stay here.
I liked: the close proximity to the Oakland Coliseum, the free shuttle to and from the Friday night baseball game, the tolerable breakfast, the clean and comfortable room, the helpful desk staff, the in-room coffee and fridge.

The exterior doesn't look pleasing to any person staying at the motel. However, the motel has done some renovations and the rooms are surprisingly quite nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Finally, the staff was helpful and attentive.
I always have a high regard of Days Inn hotel but after seeing the room at the days inn Oakland on 8350 Edes I was very dissapointed I made a reservation and when I got there the outside speak for itself right away. It looks to me like it is abandoned. The manager had me pay half of my reservation. I had to pay bec it is their policy but I will never use Days inn again. The room looks very old & has a particular smell.
Just OK, room was old and not real clean. Detail in cleaning is not been addressed in thsi hotel. Bed was as old as the hotel, small tv. Phone lines to old to download computer info.
TIPS: Ask for an even-numbered room on the highest floor available--this will put you on the fenced-in side of the building rather than the roadfront side, which is pretty noisy. Also, book on daysinn.com and you may be able to get a "daylight savings" special, which is usually $10 less than going rate on the travel sites (and if you ...
