I didn't stay at City Hotel, but I did spend several hours in the bar. It's a gold-era building with genuine period decoration. Drinks are great and reasonably priced and you'll find friendly locals to talk to.

If you talk to these people on the phone, this place is the best around. When you get there and talk to the locals, you realize you got ripped off making reservations there. I took my wife and 2 children, and we were not happy with the price we paid for the room we got.

This place was a nightmare. There were college kids up all night playing loud music, the rooms were dirty and smelled of smoke, and there was no place to park because they let everyone and their brother park in the parking lot. Never again.
