We tried a lot of different Hilton/Marriot/Best Western hotels in a 3 week tour of California and Nevada from the UK. This was one of the better ones despite the price being attractive I was also actually there the weekend 40 Corvettes turned up - this made for a real change Really enjoyed it - decent price, comfortable, very good ...
I host a Corvette Club Rally each year out of Lone Pine. With over 40 cars involved the logistics can be somewhat frightening, to say the least. This year we elected to stay at the Best Western Frontier in Lone Pine and we comped two meeting rooms and were made to feel more than welcome, unlike their historic competitor in downtown Lone Pine. 4 stars and a HUGE thumbs up!
For starters, these rooms are big. The Motel 6 in Mammoth Lakes is almost half this size and $10 a night less. The second thing is that they take their customer care service seriously. They do what they can to keep you happy. They are dog friendly and make you feel like they are glad to have you here. There was no problem checking in and out. The only negative thing I can say is that it is about one mile out of town on hwy 395.
Clean, roomy, window in bathroom, nicely decorated (with pine, what else), top of the line continental breakfast. Excellent view (not from room) of Mount Whitney, tallest in lower 48.
older motel with larger than normal rooms. family owned and managed with maintenance and housekeeping first rate. friendly and helpful local staff. good continental breakfast.
