location...location...location!!! Walks from the beach...few steps from the park...across from Tide Shuttle Bus stop which drives you around Santa Monica....5 minutes walk from the pier...Great beach, fabulous sunset, comfy hotel.

this hotel was a great place to stay close to the beach and peir.we walked everywhere. at first i was nervous but once we got to see our room it was very nice for a cheap stay. we were only there to sleep at night but it was a cozy stay in mid january.people complained about the homeless but we didnt see any near the hotel. parking it a bit tight but we made it work. i would stay there again next time

We reserved a room with kitchen on the second floor a month in advance. We drove 5 hours from Vegas, and when we arrived, we had no room. We had to pick between two with no kitchen. The Bayside Hotel in Santa Monica seems to have been built in the 40's. A little too late to be cutesy Art Deco, but too early to be built in a useful style. A great place in a central location. Close to beach, Venice, SM Pier, bicycle rentals, and plenty of night life on main street and in Downtown SM. Clean, well kept, courteous....with a touch of 50's Ozzie and Harriet Flare. Very Friendly and accommodating. Reasonable price, awesome view of Pacific Ocean.

Inexpensive, across from beach, clean. Not luxurious but definitely satisfactory. There is a sign posted that they have applied for a permit to remodel. For those who want to sleep late, they should provide darker curtains. It would be nice to have soundproof walls and double pane windows.

Our family of 4 stayed for 2 days at Bayside. The staff was beyond helpful! Gave us a map, highlighted sights and stores, even plugged the parking meter for us.
