great place, upscale, valet, etc... excellent referrlas to sports club for the game and to the AMP for businessman special massage! Go to Mings, just a couple blocks away....well spent $40 Dont waste time on Jaxx, go straight to Great Alskan Bush Co. Best Shows I have ever seen; great lap dances....ask for daisy and kodi!
This is an absolutely wonderful hotel with the most fantistic view from the top floor of their restaurant. Spa, Olympic size pool, fabulous gift shops.

Great Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/03/08
Visited for the first time on Iditarod weekend. Despite it being probably the busiest winter weekend, service was top-notch all around - doorman, front desk, room service, retaurants, shops, even maid service (never saw a cart in the hallways - they must pull into rooms - nice touch!). I had a 16th floor junior suite in Tower 3 and was very ...

Over rated hotel for the price.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/04/08
Overpriced rooms with lack luster atmospher. No A/C. The pool was way to small and over chlorinated. The food was okay but not even close two a two star level. For a museum or a shrine to the infamous Captain Cook,This place would be a thumbs up! But for a hotel, I will go with the local bed and breakfsst agencies for more attentive care, better quality food.
This hotel provides all of the service and quality you should expect from a hotel at this level. I travel regularly to Anchorage and this hotel is head and shoulders above the rest.

Beautiful hotel, beware no AC
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/22/07
The hotel captain cook is a beautiful hotel with great food and a great location. When arriving there on a July day during a warm streak we quickly found out that there is no AC. Most people would shrug that off and say then just open the windows.... there were two problems to that. 1 remember that it is daylight most of the time and only ...

disappointed!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/04/07
A couple of friends and I stayed at the Cook because of its location, the Crow's Nest Bar (great view and drinks) and availability of massages in hotel. We ended up in a junior suite on the busy street side of the hotel (noisy) with a king bed for the three of us. The pull out in the living area had no mattress. It was noticably smaller than ...
It is a beautiful hotel, very clean, and for the price, an overall great value. Moving back down to the lower 48, I realize now how much I miss Anchorage, and all the truly great people~~~
