When I was a kid, my family would make frequent trips to Gulf Shores. We always stayed at The Ramada, across from the beach. This summer, I took my family to the same hotel - only the name has changed. I was delighted to find out that this was the same place where I had so many great memories. It is across the street from the beach, but the ...
The hotel really is just steps away from the beach. It was not hard to cross the street at all. We had a king room which also had a sleeper sofa. The room was very large and clean. It's not luxury, but it was nicer than I thought that it would be from some other reviews that I read. Why pay $100 more to stay just across the street? The ...
We stayed on the second floor in room 201 (Smoking & King). It was nice and had a good bit of room. The "deluxe continental breakfast" consisted of honeybuns, pecan wheels, and some other snack cakes. We didn't eat there, we ate at the Waffle House that is right down the road. The hotel has a tiki bar on the 1st floor, they ...
We called the motel directly to make reservations before we read everything on their website. After talking to the man who answered the phone, we were led to believe that the motel was ON the beach and that we would have a beach front room. We were told that our room would be on the third floor, facing the beach. When we arrived, not only was the ...

Horrible experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/24/08
I booked this hotel because the website made it look great and it was a great price. The outside of the hotel looked nice, but when we checked into our room, it smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke (and it was a non-smoking room). There was hardly any toilet paper, no tissue paper, no coffee maker, the lamp didn't work, there was mildew ...

Awful!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/17/08
The service was awful. The room smelled like mildew. The internet service wouldn't work. We had to call the desk and complain about the rowdy people next door to us 3 times before they did anything. It was an awful experience. I would definitely NOT recommend staying here.

Awesome time at Beachside Resort Hotel 2007!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/30/07
I loved Beachside Resort Hotel. The pool, on the 3rd floor, was very neat and clean, and it had a great view of the beach!!!!! The distance from Beachside to the beach was just a few footsteps away, and there was a cool seafood place right in front of the hotel! The rooms very clean, and very roomy. The TV had many channels. I really couldn't ...

Decent off-season hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/23/07
I really wanted to give it a 2 3/4 stars but I can't. I mistakenly assumed it was BEACHSIDE since that's in the name but it's across the street. Room was clean but ceiling had water damage. Beds were not comfortable. Staff were nice and helpful. It appears the owners are still re-building from Ivan. I was down there about a year ...

LADIES BEWARE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/07
Hotel web page indicated room rates at $119.00 however I was refused that rate & charged more. While at the pool, discovered by other families that the men were given much cheaper rates. While in process of changing rooms, the clerk was on the telephone & was overheard telling someone that if they were given rooms at $95.00, then the ...

The reason you go to the beach isn't to stay in a nice hotel, but for the price we paid, we could have stayed in a much better place than this.
There was a coffee maker in our room, but no coffee pot or cups, and the coffee downstairs in the lobby tasted like it was 3 days old. The wireless internet would only pick up in our room by the ...
