  • No Concern for Guest Safety

Paradise Point Resort and Spa, San Diego, CA

Beware that the management at this resort does not care about your safety. While I was there in September of 2006 I fell on an eroded strip of grass and broke my wrist. This is a long narrow strip of grass between several units and the beach. My small grandchildren had also been tripping and ...

  • You can't swim after 10 PM!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/04/06
It is such a beautiful resort. My husband and I went for a night on 9/30/06. We loved all the tropical landscaping! Having a night without kids was nice, so we invited friends to join us for dinner. I told them to bring their swimsuits to go for a swim after dinner. We ate at their most expensive resturant and spent over 300 on dinner alone. ...

  • Overpriced with bad service to boot
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/15/06
Bad experience at Paradise for almost $500 per night including...
    - 50 minute wait to check-in
    - dirty hotel room
    - trash on the patio
    - trash on the beach
    - 2 calls for assistance re non-functional safe and no one came
    - Broken light at cabana entrance

Complacent service at high-priced rates = unhappy guest. Next time I'll stay at the Ritz

  • not a good value for your money
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/07/06
Paradise Point could be one of the best places to go in San Diego, CA. However, there are several things that I didn't like about the place. First of all, the rooms are very expensive for the size. The rooms are very small and the furniture makes you feel like you are in one of those budget motels. Then the service is very slow. If you try ...

  • disappointed!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/22/06
My husband and I took our two sons, ages 8 months and 21 months, on vacation to San Diego. We chose to stay at Paradise Point, as we stayed there a year ago and really enjoyed it. This stay was very different, though. The line at check-in was over 40 minutes long, which seemed like forever when waiting with two tired kids. After spending less ...

  • Great spot for kids and without!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/08/06
Loved it, would go back again. Traveled with my 3 year old son. More than enough for us to do (or not do if un-motivated for the day). Close enough to other attractions that every day was something interesting!

Staff and accomodations were very comfortable and pleasant.

I could see going back with either just the two of us, or a group of ...

  • never again
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/02/06
My family and I recently stayed Paradise Point and it was by far the worst stay we've had on any vacation. Definitely paying for location to stay here and to be honest it really isn't worth it...there are better hotels nearby so take the time and book one of them. The rooms were extremely small and cramped and there was a labor dispute ...

  • Needs new management!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/16/06
This property is very beautiful and a great location, however, poor management will bring this resort down. When you arrive to check-in at 5:30pm you expect your room to be ready. With beds breaking, phones broken, light bulbs out, water damage on walls not repaired and rooms not provided with extra pillows and blankets for pullouts, you have to ...

  • Nice Resort
    By el sid, 07/10/06
Really nice resort - I expected to see something like this in Hawaii - not San Diego. I was pleasantly suprised. Great swimming pools - bike rentals were very curteous. Around the corner from Sea World. Rooms were large and comfy.

This was one of the most fabulous hotels that my husband and I have ever stayed at.The staff were extremely gracious and helpful.Coming from the east coast we were more than at ease driving all over with the directions the hotel provided to all the area attractions. We did'nt get lost once. The proximety to everything was perfect. We were more ...
