All I have to say is that the hotel is great, the location is great, and the rates are great. The lady at the front desk ruined my familes vacation.

The view is fanominal. And the rooms are quaint and put together nicely. The view from either side of the hotel is absolutely wonderful of Old Harbor or the ocean.

I absolutely loved the old-fashioned charm of this hotel. It was my first stay and I plan on going back. Block Island is not a town with alot of night-life but I felt alive and involved in the evenings. My great experience is credited to the Surf Hotel.

I have gone to the Surf for over 25 years and always feel comfortable there. I have never had an unpleasant exchange with any staff member there. The rooms are clean, the lobby/living room is set up with board games. There is a piano and a tv, books to read and the lovely little well behaved dogs.

Love the old fashioned atmosphere, and close location to beach and downtown restaurants. Also suggest getting oceanside room. It's woth the extra money to listen to the surf at night. Family that runs it makes you feel at home. And the included breakfast is pretty good. We try to go every year for a few days relaxation. Ron & Judy

We stay on the island every summer at a home near Southeast Lighthouse and come back in the Fall for a long weekend at the Surf, The Surf is like a home you love to come back to to relive fond memories.
The breakfasts are wonderfull, Lorraine and her family are great, the dogs are fun and the location is unbeatable; so what else is there to make a vacation!!!!!
