Matterhorn Motel is my place to go back every year and get my favorite room which includes the Kitchenette. This qute little place is a hidden gold mine. It clean, family owned and great prices. Now there is not a lot of extra's like the internet and such but you will always be treated like a king. Use the money you saved for the fun. They do have family rooms, rooms with over sized jacuzzi bath tubs..They allow dogs!!! Bedding is washed including comforters.

It definitely isn't Harveys or the Mont Bleu, but for the money you can't beat it. It's about ten minutes from the Casinos and very close to shopping and restaurants. Wasn't sure what to except with these smaller out of the way places, however this no frills small motel was perfect for the two of us to get away for a weekend. The owners were super friendly, remembered me by name from when I called to make the reservation and always had a smile. Check this place out if all you need is a place to lay your head and a shower. BTY, the water pressure is great and the water stays hot.

I've stayed her twice. The first time my car broke down. The mechanic sent me to the Matterhorn. The Matterhorn got a room ready for me within a few hours. The next time I stayed here, the family that runs the Matterhorn remembered me. They were friendly. The rooms, including the bathroom are clean. The beds are comfortable. I plan to go back this season. No frills.

The Matterhorn Motel is the best kept secreat in Tahoe. My family had a reunion in Tahoe over Thanksgiving weekend and stayed at the matterhorn Motel. The owners went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms are extremely clean. They even wash the bedspreads after each guests check out. It is an extemely good value. It's not fancy but I highly recommend it.
