Our local college listed them as an option for student housing. Joseph the lease/ option owner defaulted and took off with all the students money, this is a recent hot topic in our community, maybe all of the city council members and the mayor who is Josephs good friend are helping him out again. I hear he is in southern Nevada, any idea council? Hope it all gets hung out soon for the sake of all these good kids just trying to go to school

Awful service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/04/09
Even though I had a reservation, and confirmed through e-mail, when I arrived they wouldn't honor the reservation because of a change of management.

Great place to go if you have dogs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/18/09
We have been going to the Alder Inn for several years now. The owners are really nice people. When we can't take our trailer we stay here with our friends and dogs.
Alder Inn is right off of a main street. It was less than a ten minute drive everywhere we went. Walking distance to a lot of things. The owners and staff were the friendliest and most helpful people ever! My boyfriend was visiting from Chicago and said they were the nicest people he had come across in California. They gave us tips where to go ...

Great hotel with a family feel at Alder Inn!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/07/08
This hotel is very well kept and has the most personal and outstanding service of any small Inn I have ever stayed at! The owner is very personable and took extra measures to ensure we had a great stay in South Lake Tahoe. The rooms are very clean and well appointed. The hotel is within walking distance of some great restaurants and shuttle ...
Obviously I liked the fact that this place is pet friendly. Very friendly and helpful staff. They offered a limited pet sitting and walking service free of charge which was nice. Quiet neighborhood. The rooms are alright. It is a roof over the head and for the price it was what we needed. Not exactly deluxe acccomidations, typical motel feel.
during the wait of our home. we stayed at the alder inn. the management was very kind. And for the time we stayed there it felt like home.

Whenever we stay at Motels, the first we look at was the convience, the quality and cleaningness. Alder Inn has it all. It's relatively close to State line, ammenities, ski area. The rooms are clean and free of smell. The heaters are working (although ancient). The bed sheets are clean (although a bit older/wornout). They have a couch for my ...

Returning in Spring
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/05
We stayed in August and it was so nice because of the location. We walked to the casino's, shop's and restaurants. We also mountain biked around and even went in the pool. The owner's had a lot of information on sightseeing. We are returning to the Alder Inn in the Spring.
I love this place. nowhere else in Tahoe can you be so close to everything and have your canine companions welcome. Complete with dog bisquits in the lobby, the owner is very pet friendly. I can party, go in the hot tub nad sleepm with my dogs... I LOVE THIS PLACE...
